Ok, so I can't seem to figure out what's worse: Is it this Mac in the dynamic where I have little to no internet connection, spending most of my time trying to figure out how to do stuff all on my lonesome? Or is it the MacPeople problem where I discuss how I came about of this MacBook Pro, and then, invariably, they all ask where this silly Blog is so they can read about my transition?
See, the annoyance is that I try to do {x} with my Mac that I either had that program already for my XP machine, could easily get it through sneakerNet for my XP machine, or it came with my installation of Ubuntu. The problem is that it seems not very much comes with OS X, but it's out there (so they say). But unlink Linux, it's not all free. it's like I get all the aggravation of having to search catalog repositories of software like with Linux, and then all the sales and {DRM} that people want with XP software. I'm like, crud!
You see, with M$ systems, you can vent about your frustrations anywhere, anytime, and to anyone, and you have a 99.8% chance of them saying, "Yeah man! They suck! That's so annoying! I totally understand.... but talk to Jake, he's got a copy on his thumbdrive..." But when you try that with Mac, oh man.... watch out! "Oh yeah, I had that problem, too. And then I realized I was a Tard. See, you're a Tard too, right now. You just need to get as hip as your Mac, and then you'll have no more problems. See, it's all YOUR fault, not the Mac's..... Oh, and there's no way I can get that DMG over to you, it's too big for my thumbdrive, and I'd put it on my external hard drive for you, but that's full of movies and iTunes music, and it won't let me delete them. I mean, really, Mac is right, why would you EVER want to clean out movies or music, eh?"
So... the conundrum continues....
Live long and prosper, People of Mac! Live long and pass on what you've learned!
